Biography

English rock band White Lies that had been known before as Fear Of Flying was formed in autumn of 2007. Charles and Jack began performing while studying at school, and after they were joined by Harry, the trio took the name Fear Of Flying and started to create their own material. The musicians managed to make several records: Routemaster/Round Three in summer 2006 and Three’s A Crowd/Forget-Me-Nots by the end of the same year. Afterwards the young men understood that it was time to move on and that their new compositions did not fit the very concept of Fear Of Flying. Thus, the new band called White Lies appeared in 2007.

White Lies performed a lot at numerous concerts, winning all hearts of new fans. It is definitely worth mentioning that the live sound differs greatly from the band’s studio records, because on stage White Lies play with the keyboardist Tommy Bowen. Release of the group’s debut album titled To Lose My Life... took place in 2009. That long play peaked at the very top of the UK Albums Chart in no time, which proved the highest level of To Lose My Life... and listeners’ interest in White Lies’ creativity. The musicians’ career began in a very confident and bright way, and the band became a permanent participant of various famous festivals, including such gigs as Lollapalooza, Rock Werchter and many others.

Two years later the rockers pleased their fans with the new studio attempt titled Ritual (2011), which completely satisfied the listeners’ expectations. In a very short time White Lies managed to develop their own unique style and sound, and Ritual proves that perfectly. Moreover, White Lies’ style is truly diverse, which makes the band’s compositions original and rememberable: there is absolutely no doubt that Bigger Than Us, The Power & The Glory and others will be interesting for all the connoisseurs of high quality music.
